a mother of two daughters……….
an imperfect wife striving to be better……..
a sinner saved by the grace of God…..
a quiet observer and lover of nature……
an animal lover………………….
a sipper of herbal tea……….
You might be wondering what I’m all about and why I’m here. I’m here because I have a passion for the written word as well as ” all things natural” and it’s my hope that I can intertwine the two to inspire others to get back to the basics and learn how to transition their families lifestyle to a real foods diet. I love the homesteading way of life and believe we can all live a more sustainable life by learning how to grow our own food and skillfully learn how to cook it up the healthiest possible way for our family. Each year I strive to become better at doing this and would love to share my victories and failures with others so we can learn from each other!
I have completed an herbalist program, a Natural Living Educator certification and am currently racing to the finish line to obtain my Master Herbalist Certification and a Nutritional Therapist Certification. I’m looking forward to using my new found knowledge to help others strive towards their natural wellness goals using herbs and nourishing foods. I’m a former homeschooling mother of eight years and I adored it almost as much as I love hearing the word “Mom” from our two precious daughters. I’ve loved to write since I was old enough to string two words together on paper and I’m embarking on an ebook which should be finished shortly. I’m an incessant researcher and life long learner and have an infinity for writing poetry and watching old movies. You’ll find me most often in my kitchen where I have been accused of having various “science experiments” sitting around by my family, otherwise known as fermenting food.
Some ramblings that you probably don’t care to know about me but I’m going to tell you anyways….
I love to whistle……loud and often.
My husband says it’s the same tune all the time but I hear it as a beautiful ever changing melody from the inner most recesses of my mind.
I Love Lucy…..no, really I do.
Lucille Ball was my favorite actress and I never tire of her hilarious antics. She makes me laugh.
I like to poke things with a stick in the woods.
Having been told that this is typically a guy trait, I will admit if I run into something odd, fascinating or otherwise unusual I will most likely find the nearest stick to poke it and further investigate it.
I talk to my dog WAY to much.
Yes, I have a dog and when I’m alone or even if my husband is here I have conversations with him. So far all I’ve gotten in return is an occasional grunt and lots of unconditional love.
I would much rather be sporting my muck boots then high heels and a dress.
Lets face it ladies, a man must of invented those torturous devices called the “high heel” right along with panty hose.
I have a chronic chocolate addiction.
I will say I try to make it the healthiest possible chocolate to consume, but nonetheless “the struggle is real” as my daughter would say.
So that’s me in a nutshell. Check me out on facebook, pinterest and instagram. I’m really looking forward to connecting with you! Now get out there and get some dirt under your nails!
